The Movement of Anxiousness

When you see an image
one looks at the structure
Just like
the way a body moves
the stillness of a mountain
the flight of a chickadee
the clouds disappering into a clear blue sky.
every image relies on what you see.
We capture what we see.
We witness the outer layer.
Unless we give our full attention...then we suddenly experience something different.
there is an opening you see
for a deeper connection...for a glimpse or for a second or for a hot minute
An Unfolding begins.
A sense of oneness unravel right before our eyes.
Then poof it's gone!

Life Lessons
by Rose Cortez
One early morning before sunrise...
I saw this Wild Rose Waning.
I picked her up,
Took her out of the plastic and placed her in Water...
I Watched her!
And within minutes...
this is how she really Bloomed!

Motivation

To get there everyday...well it takes a lot of practice...
Especially when we get older.
Discipline is the key word.
You know the thing that you do everyday that keeps your Mind and Body alive and awake again.
For some they run everyday at 5:30am and come to yoga for the 6:00am...
Then you do your routine over and over again.
You see results, you are glad for it.
You see strength, you are happy about it.
You see focus and you are thrilled about it.
You feel alive and awake...again.
Thank goodness for that.
Then if you really pay attention you see how friends and families begin to see your discipline and motivation as an inspiration. They too will begin to feel motivated to do that thing that will trigger their Mind and Body alive and awake again.
They say it takes a village to raise a child - well isn't it true when you get older also? Except... it takes a village to motivate an adult.

Alant Watts - Don't Try

"The BODY is a multilingual being. It speaks through its colour and its temperature, the flush of recognition, the glow of love, the ash of pain, the heat of arousal, the coldness of non-conviction. It speaks through its constant tiny dance, sometimes swaying, sometimes a-jitter, sometimes trembling. It speaks through the leaping of the heart, the falling of the spirit, the pit at the centre, and rising hope." - Women Who Run With the Wolves by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes

After a big hike.
At the Rainbow trail,
This word placed.
Carefully stones resting on a bed of green grass.
the word HAPPY written in stones.
Awaits at the end of the Rainbow trail.
How ironic and symbolic.
To be reminded about the simple things we do in life that makes us this.

Dear Carl,

Wherever you are today…
I just want to tell you I will always love you…

To this Trail
on Haida Gwaii…
You took me here
Where I was greeted by the Tall Trees
A still sounding echoed
“Welcome”
Together we walked Quietly.

This Way
Your Body moved in Gentle Precision
Every Step you took was full of Intention
Your heArt shinning through in Everything you Touched!

I Saw You…
Magical Raven!
For whomever you’ve ’Helped’ Tllgidgaaya
will Forever Remember You.

Love,

Rose

33 - Leap Year Offerings

Whenever my heartstrings unravel, I stay closer to the warmth of my truth. I pause, reflect and sit for awhile searching beyond my obsidian eyes. I open these eyes, looking up and bowing down to the beating strings of my heart. I gently pick a string and hold it up. I lift it up to give thanks and allow my vibrational energy to course right through me! So here I am, beginning again to weave a Leap Year's heartstrings...

For the Leap Year Ahead - I am returning back hOMe to Vancouver, British Columbia! I will be teaching a few more classes and 2 Yogassage offerings at Modo Yoga Seattle this coming week. And if you're around the Greenlake Seattle area, come on down and take a class or two.

I am so Grateful and Honoured to be sharing my journeys through Yoga, Poetry, Art, Love, Passion, Death, Birth and Rebirth for the past year at Modo Yoga Seattle. Big Love and Gratitude to Kylie, Brandon, Team MYS, new friends and families in Seattle for embracing my fire and heartstrings on and off my yoga mat. Thank You Seatown from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a guide on your Moksha/Modo Hot Yoga journey and practice! Keep in touch to what's in store for this Rose and catch me right here for updates on my new adventures!

Dancer's Pose on St. Mark's at Cypress Mountain to celebrate 33!!!

Peace and Love always!

I accept who I am...
I embrace my strength and weaknesses.
I Leap forward facing my dreams and desires
And welcome Life and Love with Lightness in my eyes!
I bow and am grateful to every opportunity...
And Peace to all my relations.

Even though there are many ups and downs
I take my Life with my two hands and bring Peace to the many journeys that are ahead.
I am grateful for Today.
I am grateful for the Moon...
She keeps reminding me to Slow down...
And Be Present to Now!
