My name is Rose and for 15 years, I've dedicated my path to observing & working details to bloom in Theatre, Performance, Arts, Yoga & Wellness from Toronto to Vancouver!
As an artist; creator/actor/collective playwright/performer Rose strives for mindfulness practice in Theatre, Arts, and Yoga for healing, change and transformation. She uses both her lived experiences and artistic formal training at York University's Theatre Conservatory combining Southeast and Asian Wellness traditions with movement, sound and text. Rose’s creative works and endeavours in Theatre, Arts and Yoga communities in Toronto, Vancouver, Seattle, Kamloops, Victoria and Haida Gwaii reflect her resilient commitment to innovate for the future of our next generation.
Her creator/performer/actor/playwright credits include: People Power, Batik/Budol/Brew, The Dreamweavers, and Stillness in Action. Rose's actor/performer credits include: Singkil (Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination for Best Performance), If We Were Birds & Baggage. She has worked as a Theatre Artist with Theatre companies such as: Carlos Bulosan Theatre, fu-Gen Theatre, Cahoots Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille, Factory Theatre and Canadian Stage. Rose is a trained actor in the acting conservatory BFA program at York University in Toronto. She is the creator, yoga teacher and facilitator of Bloom Wild Rose Retreats on Haida Gwaii in collaboration with the Haida Arts and Culture on Old Massett. She is currently dreaming for her next Theatre project, Bloom Blocks.
Rose has been teaching Yoga, facilitating Creative Expressions for all ages and an ambassador to Wellness for mental, emotional and physical well-being in B.C., Canada for over a decade. Rose is grateful and honoured to teach Yoga, create, write and dream about new projects.
Since 2009, I've been a Professional Yoga Teacher, Wellness Mentor and Process-based Theatre Artist to various clients.
I've mentored over 45 new Yoga teachers at Modo Yoga International, Community Builder Starter for two Modo Yoga studios in Vancouver and Seattle and taught International Master Artists, Canadian Elite Athletes, LGBTQ, Trauma-informed BIPOC, Diversabilities, Yoga & Theatre Creators & Communities for more than 15 years combined in Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Seattle and Haida Gwaii.
As a Creative Arts and Wellness Program Designer, Artist and Director of various multidisciplinary projects: I am passionate about holding spaces and curating projects for the specific needs of each client. I work with various Wellness, Yoga and Arts industries that are innovative and progressive. This is my lifelong healing work & journey for creative collaborations with Wellness Professionals, Yoga, Artists and Athletes. My work is grounded in grassroots experiences, professional work and observational/witnessing/allyship learning based on the Island.
As a BIPOC and Asian Canadian Yoga Teacher Professional & Artist for a decade in B.C. I've been teaching Creative Wellness on the Yoga Mat and my Call to Action for connection, courage and change is continuing to carve this creative work.
